    The Prince's Teaching Institute Awards Schools Programme Marks

    Seventy-three departments from 51 schools have been awarded the Prince’s Teaching Institute’s first Schools Programme Mark – an award launched by HRH The Prince of Wales on 23 November. The 73 school departments recognised are the first to be awarded the Mark.

    On-Site at the Olympics – 2012 and its Legacy

    A day combining academic lectures on the legacy of regeneration, teacher led workshops and a full tour of the Olympic site with expert guide Alan Kinder, Chairman of the Geographical Association Education Committee. The event is taking place on site at the newly opened ViewTube, the visitor centre at the Olympic Park and is being led by Graham Goldup, Head of Geography at Cardinal Newman Catholic School and 6th form College, Hove.

    Parliament and Monarchy - Charles I and the outbreak of the Civil War

    A day devoted to the reign of King Charles I and his role in the outbreak of Civil War with Parliament in 1642. This event features lectures by leading academics in the field and will focus on the complex relationship between King and Parliament. Speakers include Prof Richard Cust from the University of Birmingham and Dr David Smith fromt he University of Cambridge. The day will enable teachers to update their knowledge on an area of study which is both a vital component of the National Curriculum and a popular A Level topic.
