Homewood School Sixth Form pupils - Auschwitz TalkTwo AS History students participated in the Lessons From Auschwitz Project. This involved two half day conferences in London and a day trip to Auschwitz. The students then had to pass on what they had learned to their peers and to the wider community. They did a fantastic job, by writing an article for the school newsletter and giving a presentation to parents, students and staff. They then wrote a report on their experience and submitted it to Hull University. They gained ten university points by completing the project and we are very proud of them – especially as one was in Year 11.Homewood School - '1940's Evacuees' Day'

History has also been taken out of the classroom. Enrichment of the theme of 'conflict' took place by 'evacuation' of 360 Year 8 students via steam train to Bodiam Castle. Students and staff dressed in 1940s costume and drama activites took place with Drama A Level students at the station on arrival in Bodiam.

A History Club has been set up for Key Stage 3 students and they have already made medieval gargoyles from clay, created a Tudor town frieze and a pirate treasure hunt web quest. More exciting activities are planned for next term.
