Robert Clack School
As part of the programme, the department has embarked on a number of exciting and interesting projects:
At Key Stage 3, thematic lessons have been introduced, which help to convey the ‘big picture’ of a topic, such as empire, over a significant amount of time.
A History Society has been set up at lower school and they covered a number of different topics outside of the curriculum, such as Jack the Ripper and the assassination of JFK. In conjunction with All Saints School, the society investigated what a medieval feast would be like, before preparing a range of meals based on this knowledge for a number of invited guests.
Year 7 pupils were given the opportunity to build replicas of Norman castles and enter them into a competition. This event was a huge success, with many wonderful designs and the winners were taken on a trip to the Tower of London.
