Schools Programme
The Prince’s Teaching Institute (PTI) Schools Programme is run as a membership group. Its objectives are to encourage schools to develop their subject provision, motivate teachers to deepen their subject knowledge, and celebrate school departments that are engaged in curriculum improvements and projects that will result in better subject provision. It is currently available to state schools in England and Wales for English, History, Science, Geography and Mathematics.
In return for the department demonstrating annual development of their subject provision and commitment to increasing the teachers’ subject knowledge:
- All members of the department have access to PTI web resources
- All members of the department benefit from discounts for PTI one day CPD
- After the first year, and subject to the development objectives set being achieved, the school gains use of the appropriate PTI Schools Programme Mark on its letterhead and website (example right)
The Programme is designed to promote and recognise a trajectory of improvement in the provision of a subject; it is not an attempt to define absolute levels of provision. As a result, we welcome schools with a wide variety of current provision to join the Programme.
