Geography
The Geography programme ran in parallel with courses for teachers of Science with a view to presenting the conclusions of all the discussions to a panel of educationalists on the final morning.
It included sessions addressed by eminent speakers, group discussions on current issues in Geography teaching, and subject-specific seminars on a range of topics.
The course also offered delegates the opportunity to discuss aspects of their subjects with policy-makers and educationalists.
As well as the plenary speakers, we were privileged to have the following speakers attend the 2008 Geography Summer School:
- Professor Mike Hulme (UEA, Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research)
- Professor Peter Dicken (University of Mancheater)
- Dr David Vaughan (British Antarctic Survey)
- Professor Andrew Goudie (University of Oxford)
- David Holmes (Field Studies Council, Edexcel)
- Dr Peter Knight (Keele University)
- Professor David Lambert (Geographical Association)
