2010 English, History and Geography Summer School
This summer The Prince's Teaching Institute will be holding a joing English, History and Geography Summer School at Homerton College, Cambridge. It will be held from Monday 28th June to Wednesday 30th June.
The course will consist of lectures and workshops by eminent speakers and academics including, Sir Tom Stoppard, Michael Wood and members of the University of Cambridge English, History and Geography departments. The English course will include a drama workshop run by the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Geogrpahy course will include a visit to the British Antarctic Survey.
Further speakers and a provisional programme of events will be announced shortly.
This event is open to Heads of Department (or their nominated representative who have curriculum responsibilty) from state secondary schools who have not previously attended a Prince's Teaching Institute Summer School.
This event will also act as an induction in the Prince's Teaching Institute Schools Programme, and so departments wishing to join this membership scheme are requested to send a representative to this event. In order to facilitate this, we will be asking delegates to complete a short review of their department's current subject provision in advance of the event.
There is a non-refundable booking fee for this event of £95, to cover the cost of last minute cancellations that we have experienced in previous years.
